Model H and Model H-S Infrared Dryer Systems for Sheetfed Presses

Standard dryers are available for web widths from 20" through 80" (larger on special order). Width control to the customers specifications allow use of zones when running less than full machine width.
The dryer control Panel contains two digital readouts. The first is constantly monitoring web temperature while the other shows either a manual percentage (i.e. .1% through 100%, in tenths of percentage output) or a present web temperature setpoint that the dryer will automatically hold, regardless of press speed, ink coverage or paper weight.
The web temperature is read via a non contact optical pyrometer housed in a protective jacket, using a continuous air purge to prevent contamination of the lens. Satisfactory performance is gauged by the operator in the manual mode, temperature is read on the console ( this becomes the temperature set for that particular job), then the setpoint is held, when in auto mode, for the entire run length.
The model HSW_A system is also provided with a manual backup to the microprocessor control system that will allow manual dryer operation in the event of a control malfunction.
Soneko Model R Medium Wave Dryers For Sheetfed Presses
The Model R series dryer uses medium wave infrared elements mounted across the sheet. The model R dryer is used in low pile sheetfed presses or as a less expensive medium wave system on a high pile press.
Soneko Model R series infrared dryers are available in two configurations: The model R-3,4,and 5 are modular in design to allow for maximum flexibility of installation in low pile sheetfed presses. They can be installed in virtually any low pile press. The model of the press will determine the configuration required.
The Model R is also available in a panel configuration as an R-4, R-5 or R-6. Standard panel thickness is only 1 1/4 " so this type of dryer is suitable for many presses that have difficulty with gripper clearance. A panel thickness of 1" is also available on special order.
The Model R is a dedicated medium wave system that is convection cooled (does not require outside cooling) with phase angle fired SCR control and impression and emergency stop controls, all as standard equipment.
This system is specifically designed for presses that will not accommodate a panel type dryer such as the Heidelberg K, S, &M line presses.
The Soneko USA Model HSW-A infrared dryer system incorporates features designed to solve a number of drying and curing problems in the graphic arts industry.
High watt-density short wave infrared elements, with an integral air knife for scrubbing and web protection, as well as exhaust, are built-in to a compact stainless steel housing, using only 24" of web travel.
