MODEL H and
MODEL H-S
INFRARED DRYER
SYSTEMS for
SHEETFED PRESSES

The Soneko IR Model HSW-A infrared dryer system incorporates features designed to solve a number of drying and curing problems in the graphic arts.

High watt-density short wave infrared elements, with an integral air knife for scrubbing and web protection, as well as exhaust, are built-in to a compact stainless steel housing, using only 24" of web travel.

Standard dryers are available for web widths from 20" through 80" (larger on special order). Width control to the customers specifications allow use of zones when running less than full machine width.

Closed Loop
Microprocessor
Control

The dryer control Panel contains two digital readouts. The first is constantly monitoring web temperature while the other shows either a manual percentage (i.e. .1% through 100%, in tenths of percentage output) or a present web temperature setpoint that the dryer will automatically hold, regardless of press speed, ink coverage or paper weight.

The web temperature is read via a non contact optical pyrometer housed in a protective jacket, using a continuous air purge to prevent contamination of the lens.

Satisfactory performance is gauged by the operator in the manual mode, temperature is read on the console ( this becomes the temperature set for that particular job),then the setpoint is held, when in auto mode, for the entire run length.

Manual Backup

The model HSW_A system is also provided with a manual backup to the microprocessor control system that will allow manual dryer operation in the event of a control malfunction.
