Quartz Halogen T3 Lamps
Quartz
halogen lamps are used in many industrial heating applications, including PET
blow molding, silicone extrusion curing, and coil coating.
Quartz halogen lamps contain a tungsten
filament encased in a quartz envelope. Tungsten is a resistive element that is
capable of surviving temperatures in excess of 2750 ºC. Tungsten responds
rapidly when a voltage is applied. In less than 1 second, over 90% of the
available IR energy is available. This rapid response
will yield several control benefits, including short oven warm up times and
high levels of repeatability. The quartz envelope allows transmission of
the IR energy, while protecting the filament from convective cooling and
corrosion. The quartz is evacuated and filled with inert gases. A small amount
of halogen gas is added to promote long life of the emitter. Rated life for
most T3 lamps is 5000 hours. Actual life will depend upon the application and
environment and may be greater or less than rated.
The lamps are available as a linear
source from 2 to 50 inches (51 to 1270 mm) in length, with wattages up to 300
watts/inch.
Soneko IR will produce custom T3 lamps
to meet the needs of the application, including supplying the lamp with white
ceramic reflector coatings. Use the configuration sheets below to send in
your requirements.
